There are certain areas of research that I find captivating: Cognitive Psych, Computer Science, Game Theory and Economics. HR? Used to in college, but now, not so much.

The Cynical Girl, aka Laurie Ruettimann, has a thought provoking post, (ig) Nobel Prizes, in which she sites a highly thought-provoking article, which she describes thusly, "They demonstrated (through math) that organizations would become more efficient if they promoted people at random."
